Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed a positive case of the measles on a passenger who traveled on the Carnival Vista cruise ship. The company is implementing a new mask policy to prevent further outbreaks, and passengers can expect to see additional security measures in place for the remainder of the season.
The covid outbreak hits carnival cruise despite every guest staff being vaccinated is the story of a Carnival Cruise Line that confirmed positive cases on Carnival Vista and implemented a new mask policy.
On Wednesday, Carnival Cruise Line announced additional procedures, including a new mask policy and testing requirement. The mask policy has already been enforced on one Carnival cruise ship owing to positive instances on board, even though the new rules won’t take effect until August 7.
Update on Carnival Vista
Now that the cruise line is back in business with five ships, it’s critical to ensure the safety of passengers and staff while also adapting to the health condition. One of the first ships to deal with positive instances on board was the Carnival Vista.
The Carnival cruise ship was given yellow status by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention only a few days ago. A limited number of positive cases on board are now being investigated by the CDC. As a consequence, the cruise company decided to start enforcing its new mask-wearing ban on the Carnival Vista ahead of schedule. The mask regulation will take effect on all other ships on August 7, 2021.
“We have introduced our new fleetwide mask policy early on Carnival Vista, given that we are handling a limited number of positive cases on board,” Carnival Cruise Line stated in a statement issued on Thursday. The possibility of positive instances was foreseen, and our pre-established procedures of immunized guests and staff, testing, improved medical capabilities, and contact tracking were intended to respond to different situations. Close connections have been discovered and tested, and anybody who tested positive has been placed in isolation.”
It was just a matter of time until positive instances surfaced on board, and other cruise companies, such as Royal Caribbean, have previously dealt with them. Carnival has procedures in place to deal with the issue quickly, and those passengers have been isolated on board.

With the new delta version gaining popularity across the world, it’s more essential than ever for cruise companies, like Carnival, to adapt in order to keep passengers and crew members safe. The cruise company has also been working hard to ensure that all of the staff members are properly vaccinated.
The cruise aboard the Carnival Vista will proceed as planned. The ship is now docked at Cozumel, Mexico, as part of a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise departing from the Texas port of Galveston. Before coming home on Saturday, there will be a day at sea. Since the suspensions began in March 2020, she was the first ship in the fleet to resume operations.
“The decision to adopt the mask policy was decided out of an abundance of caution, considering our emphasis on the health and safety of our guests and crew,” Carnival added. The cruise will go as scheduled, and we are committed to providing a pleasant and safe holiday for our visitors. We thank our Carnival Vista visitors’ assistance, who have been very helpful as we introduced the policy on Wednesday evening.”

The new mask regulation will be in force from August 7 to October 31, 2021, with the exception of the Carnival Vista, where it is already in effect. It is now highly recommended that all visitors, particularly those who are unvaccinated, including those under the age of 12, wear a face mask inside.

Guests aged 2 and above must also wear a mask in elevators and some places aboard, including as entertainment areas, retail stores, and the casino. The masks are not required to be worn while eating or drinking, but they must be worn before entering the main dining areas.
Carnival Cruise Line has recently changed its testing criteria for all passengers, which has sparked a lot of debate on the internet. Many passengers’ plans have been altered as they prepare for their forthcoming trip. Everything is still in flux, and Cruise Hive will keep readers informed of any new developments.
