We are all aware of the immense power that blockchain technology has to disrupt traditional industries, but what about gaming? Is there a future for games powered by cryptocurrency and built on decentralized networks?

NEW YORK (WABC) — Kevin Durant and James Harden were the only two Nets players to score in double digits against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, and Durant claimed Brooklyn isn’t losing faith despite a 1-2 start and that the team has the talent to win without Kyrie Irving.
Durant, who led the Nets with 38 points in the 111-95 defeat, was asked twice whether he believes the team can win without their primary point guard, particularly when things get rough in games.
“When we are down or it’s a close game, I’m not going to sit there and think, ‘Damn, we don’t have enough,’” Durant said. “During the game, we’re not going to be worrying about [that].” Kyrie Irving should certainly be on the court. He’s also a big component of what we do. However, this is not the case right now. So now it’s up to us to figure it out.
“But no one will lose faith in us while we play, and we will hope that Kyrie will come to our rescue throughout the game. No, we’ve got to have some fun. Everyone here is self-assured in their abilities. We’ve just just begun to play.”
The Nets have begun the regular season as if it were a long preseason. Coach Steve Nash has been experimenting with different lineups and rotations to compensate for Irving’s absence, as he has failed to comply with New York City’s requirement that he receive at least one vaccination shot before playing at Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden, the home of the New York Knicks.
The Nets were outhustled and outmuscled by the Milwaukee Bucks in their season opening last Thursday, losing 127-104. To defeat the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, they needed Durant to have a triple-double and to score 16 of the game’s last 17 points.
Demonstrators gathered outside Barclays Center on Sunday to support Irving’s refusal to get vaccinated. The Nets could have used Irving inside the arena, as Durant and Harden (15 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds) were the only two Nets to score in double figures.
In the fourth quarter, the Nets were outscored 32-17, with Durant scoring 9 points and Harden adding 4.
When asked whether the Nets had enough to win, Durant consistently said, “Yeah.” “I’m not going to tell you there won’t be enough out here.” That’s not something I’m going to say. In the first half, I believe we had good control of the game. They improved in the second half.
“Three games have been played thus far. Of course, we’ve had our fill.”
Harden, who attempted to play despite a hamstring ailment in the second round of the 2020-21 playoffs, says he’s still gaining confidence before the season begins. Getting to the line with the regularity with which he is accustomed might be beneficial to the former MVP.
Harden is averaging 18.3 points, 8.0 assists, and 7.3 rebounds in three games, but he has only gone to the line nine times. From 2014-15 through 2019-20, he averaged 10.1 trips to the line each season.
Nash argues that the refereeing of “overt, sudden, or unorthodox non-basketball motions” of offensive players with the ball seeking to draw fouls, particularly inside, has harmed Harden in the wrong way this season.
Nash remarked, “I feel like he’s become the poster boy for not calling these fouls.” “Some of them are still clearly fouls. But they’re all so awake and aware, and he’s the poster kid for these new choices. I understand that there is a line, yet some of them remain fouls.”
When Nash believes Harden isn’t receiving calls, he says, “I think it’s on the drive.” “They’re acutely aware of him going for the arms of another man. But the men aren’t ready, and they’re bumping him because they’re not in a lawful guarding stance. That’s a foul; the hands have nothing to do with it. Those are the ones with which I have a little disagreement. But James will make it.”
Harden just got one free throw against Charlotte, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
“A foul is a foul, no matter how big of an issue we try to make it,” Harden said. “It’s rather straightforward. I believe they place much too much focus on regulations, and not just rules, but specific persons, to the point that they seem to be blatant fouls. You simply have to keep going, in my opinion. It’s not a huge deal.”
Harden subsequently noted, “… I’m not the kind to whine about it.” “I want every official to just call a foul if they see one. Coming into a game, I sometimes feel like it’s already decided or that receiving foul calls is a stigma. But all I ask is that the authorities just name what they see.”
